Churburg 13 Transitional Harness
The Churburg transitional harness was a product of the late fourteenth century, and manifested before the completely articulated plate of the gothic period and the chainmail of earlier periods. Marked by a blend of chain and steel plate, it can be a flexible and ornamented form of armour.
Avant Harness
The Avant harness is a particular favourite of our armourer. The original is one of the most complete harnesses of its time period, and is dated to the century following the Churburg 13 transitional. Originating in Northern Italy, the Avant was made in Milan and shows many characteristics typical of mid to late fifteenth century Milanese armour.
