The International Medieval Congress at Leeds

IMC 2026

The Sanctuary Armoury team travelled to IMC 2026 in Leeds, UK, and we were able to present our paper there, “The Hips Don’t lie” which explored innovations we have made and research we have conducted around armouring a woman. We have explored how the angulation of the hip and knee radically force reconsideration of leg harness, and how it has changed the work we do and the results we seek to achieve. It was a delight to be present for this incredible meeting of practitioners, curators, and scholars, and we can’t wait to keep pursuing excellence through intersectoral collaboration!
